Nintendo confirms that it's selling 3DS at a loss, expects that to change
Ever since Nintendo slashed the price of the 3DS, there's been plenty of speculation that the gaming giant has been selling the portable console at a loss. The company acknowledged that fact during its disappointing earnings report, stating, "its hardware has been sold below cost because of its significant price cut in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012," something that's uncharacteristic of the company's past operations. But as with its fairly unfortunate financials, the company plans to turn things around, adding, "Nintendo expects to cease selling it below cost by the middle of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2013."

Common Marriage Problems | Solve Love Troubles
For many couples, common marriage problems often start to creep into the relationship over time. If you are feeling that your marriage isn?t what it should be, or what you thought it would be when you first walked down the aisle, you are not alone. Millions of couples grapple with relationship issues, often feeling that the problems are unique to their relationship. This can lead to feelings of embarrassment and loneliness, when it doesn?t need to.
So let?s take a look at three common marriage problems which many couples find themselves facing. All of these can start out seeming fairly minor, but if they continue over a long period of time and aren?t dealt with, they can have a very negative impact on a marriage.
Feeling like you have ?fallen out of love? with each other
When you were first dating your spouse, and probably even when you stood in front of your family and friends and said your vows, you felt ?head over heels in love? with each other. For most couples, that giddy feeling doesn?t last over the years. In fact, for many, once the reality of day to day married life sinks in, the feeling starts to fade. Your lives become one of routine, which is perfectly normal. The demands of your work or careers, children and mortgages can take up all of your time and energy. And if you are like some couples, you basically start living like roommates and nothing more. While that scenario is fairly common, marriage problems like this can eventually lead to an affair or a divorce.
Taking each other for granted
Another one of the most common marriage problems is that many couples start taking each other for granted. To some degree, it is human nature to take for granted that which is always there. But in relationships, this can lead to a slow, simmering resentment for one or both of you. Everyone longs to feel loved, cherished, and appreciated. After all, that was a big part of the reason you got married in the first place. No one feels loved when they are taken for granted. When it reaches the point of devaluing each other and failing to regard the relationship as sacred or special, it can be very damaging. Sadly, what often happens is that you don?t even realize just how serious it is until the other person is gone.
Poor communication or failure to really talk to each other
Poor communication or failure to really talk to each other is probably one of the most common marriage problems many couples face. Learning to communicate well is a skill many people lack. Others have the skill and may be great communicators in their career, but struggle with communicating with their spouse. This is particularly true if one or both of you grew up in a home where poor communication was the norm. You talk superficially but avoid discussing problems or issues as they arise. Some people just find it easier to avoid any conflict. Unfortunately, this doesn?t work and in time will take a toll on your relationship if something doesn?t change.
If you and your spouse are struggling with any one of these common marriage problems, there is hope. The first step is acknowledging the problem. The sooner you recognize the problem and take action, the better!

the *Home* &, well, the *Improvement* in Home Improvement || DIY ...
Spring is here and summer can?t be too far away, but one thing?s for sure ? it?s a great time to tackle some outdoor home improvement projects.? Now that it?s getting warm again, take a look ? winter weather may have done a real number on your house.? Here are six inspections you may want to perform for getting it back up to speed:
1)? Inspect Your Exterior Paint: Moisture is one of paint?s biggest foes, especially during the winter.? It can cause blistering or peeling if you?re unlucky. During the winter, wet areas of the house like the bathroom and laundry room can develop more moisture build-up than usual due to less ventilation during the winter. This can actually seep through the walls and work its way out through the exterior paint.
If you get a lot of snow in your area and it isn?t melting and running off the roof properly, the excess moisture can start to soak into the eaves and drip down on the outside walls of your house instead ? damaging your paint. In any case, waiting to repaint your house until it gets warm again is always the best policy since most paint isn?t designed to be applied in cold and wet conditions. It might not stick nearly as well and there?s the risk of the paint developing mildew due to the moisture in the air.
2)? Inspect Your Fence: If you have a wooden fence at your house, spring?s always a great time to check it out.? Especially if you have a wood fence, wood can really take a beating over the winter. If you got a lot of rain or snow over the winter and the wood has been soaked pretty thoroughly without being able to dry out, it may have developed mold or rot. In particular, check the base of your fence for any signs of rot since water can collect around the base of a fence over the winter.
If you have trees in the yard and leaves got piled up against the fence, the leaves can trap moisture against the fence and cause rot that way as well. In addition ? look for loose boards and knotholes in the fence ? the temperature fluctuations over the winter can cause the wood to swell and shrink repeatedly and may cause boards to pull loose from the fasteners or even pop knots out of the wood. Finally, high winds over the course of a winter may cause the fence to lean. If your fence posts aren?t set in concrete, it?s a good time to think about pulling them up and resetting them in concrete while warm weather permits.
3)? Inspect Your Driveway and Patio for Resealing: If you have an asphalt driveway or patio and you haven?t done this for a couple of years, it?s probably time to do it again.? Spring through summer is typically the best time to seal your driveway or patio. If you live in an area that gets down to freezing temperatures, water can get into unsealed asphalt and expand as it freezes, causing cracks and potholes in the asphalt. In addition, frost in the soil underlying the asphalt can heave it and cause cracks. Concrete driveways or patios aren?t nearly as vulnerable to this but even they can benefit from sealing every 5 years or so (plus concrete can be vulnerable to staining if not sealed).
4) Inspect Your Garage Door: A typical garage door should last for at least 20 years under normal conditions, but the springs and other moving parts will likely need to be replaced eventually due to the wear-and-tear of regular use. While any major repairs or replacements should be handled by a garage door repair professional, you can take some proactive measures to extend the life of the moving parts.? These include lubricating the springs, rollers and cables, plus inspecting the tracks for any dents or debris that might be blocking them. In addition, the weatherstrip along the bottom of the garage door should be inspected ? it should make a tight seal between the ground and the bottom of the garage door when your garage door is closed completely.
5) Inspect Your Gate: Especially after a wet winter, your yard gate may be in need of some TLC as well. Inspect the hinges for rust and tighten them as needed. If you have an automatic gate for your driveway that uses a remote in your car ? check that the sensor isn?t blocked by debris such as fallen tree branches or overgrown weeds as these can interfere with the signal from the remote.
6) Inspect Your Foundation: The soil under your house can be prone to expanding and contracting as it gets wet and dries out over the course of a rainy season. This in turn can lead to foundation problems eventually as the foundation either gets pushed up or sinks down, causing cracks and other problems that can be very expensive to repair if not caught right away. Once warmer weather arrives, it?s always a great idea to check the foundation and make sure that you don?t have any areas where water can collect up against the foundation. Ideally, the soil should slope away from the foundation, carrying any runoff from your gutters away from the foundation rather than permitting it to soak into the ground and seep under the foundation.

Egypt rejects licenses for U.S. groups
CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt has rejected a request from eight U.S.-based civil society groups for licenses to operate in the country after a crackdown on their activities sparked the first diplomatic spat with Washington since the ousting of Hosni Mubarak.
In a move that may damage Cairo's relations with Washington, the Insurance and Social Affairs Ministry rejected the applications because it believed the groups' activities violated state sovereignty, Egyptian state news agency MENA reported on Monday.
It said requests from the Carter Center for Human Rights, set up by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Christian group The Coptic Orphans, Seeds of Peace and other groups had been rejected.
"I don't understand how a charity group like the Coptic Orphans, which works with over 35 churches in Egypt to provide medical and social aid, was rejected," said the group's lawyer, Negad al-Borai.
Sanne van den Bergh, field office director for the Carter Center in Egypt, said the group had not been formally notified of the decision to deny it a license "but we are aware of the media reports about it and we are looking into them".
The Egyptian decision came on the same day that Interpol's headquarters in France refused a request by Egypt to issue worldwide arrest warrants for 15 employees of a number of U.S.-based non-governmental organizations that operate in Egypt.
Interpol's statement said the request for arrest warrants for the 15, of whom 12 were Americans, was not in line with its rules that forbid "political, military, religious or racial" interventions.
Under Mubarak, foreign-funded democracy and human rights groups were allowed to operate in Egypt but were kept in legal limbo by the government, which repeatedly turned down their applications for licenses.
Under the military rulers who took over after Mubarak fell a year ago, Egyptian authorities have pursued an even tougher line, raiding NGOs' offices and pressing criminal charges against a number of Egyptian and foreign NGOs.
Washington threatened to withdraw $1.3 billion in military aid until an Egyptian judge lifted a travel ban on several American democracy activists last month and allowed them to leave the country and avoid possible imprisonment.
But just after the United States announced it was resuming aid to Egypt in March, Cairo asked Interpol to issue "red notices" for 15 other NGO workers who were not in Egypt when the charges against the organizations were made.
One of the 15, American Charles Dunne, told Reuters in Washington on Monday that he was grateful for the U.S. government's efforts to get Interpol to quash the Egyptian request for global arrest warrants, but noted that the criminal case against the NGOs had not been dropped in Egypt.
"Everyone is still under indictment and the case is proceeding. The Egyptians are doing everything they can to escalate this and the confrontation with civil society more broadly," Dunne told Reuters.
Dunne is a former U.S. diplomat who was based in Cairo from 1999-2002. He is now the Middle East director for Freedom House, which advocates for democracy and human rights worldwide.
Twelve of the 15 whose arrest was sought by Egypt were American, two were Lebanese and one was Jordanian, Interpol said in its statement.
Egyptian police raided the offices of Freedom House and other pro-democracy groups in late December. Prosecutors later charged 43 people including 16 Americans - one of them the son of U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood - with working for organizations that received illegal foreign funding.
Tensions have since eased, but human rights campaigners say they fear the Egyptian decision announced Monday to deny them licenses may signal a new crackdown on their activities.
"This decision is moving illogically and in opposition to the path of history as the entire world is magnifying the importance of civil society," said Hafez Abu Saeda, the head of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights. "The government insists on stifling civil work in Egypt."
The military generals who took power after Mubarak are due to hand it to the winner of the presidential election at the end of June.
