The race between former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum won't be decided by the Feb. 28 Arizona and Michigan primaries, according to recently released polls. Romney has a small lead in Arizona, but Santorum is besting the remaining contenders in Michigan.
Here's a by-the-numbers look at the recent polling results.
34: Percent support for Santorum in Michigan, according to a Mitchell Research and Communications poll. That leads Romney (25 percent), Texas Congressman Ron Paul (11 percent) and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich (5 percent).
26: Percent support among independents for Santorum. Paul (21 percent) was second among independents and Romney (19 percent) third.
42: Percent support among male voters for Santorum. Romney was second at 19 percent. Romney held a slight edge with female voters over Santorum, 29 percent to 28 percent.
38: Percent support for Romney in Arizona, according to American Research Group. Santorum was second at 31 percent, followed by Gingrich (15 percent) and Paul (11 percent).
41: Percent of tea party voters in Arizona prefer Romney. Santorum had 34 percent, followed by Gingrich (10 percent) and Paul (7 percent).
33: Percent support in Michigan for Santorum, according to American Research Group. He was followed by Romney (27 percent), Gingrich (21 percent) and Paul (12 percent).
37: Percent of tea party voters in Michigan who support Santorum. Gingrich (29 percent) was second, followed by Romney (17 percent) and Paul (11 percent).
39: Percent support nationally for Santorum, according to Rasmussen Reports of 1,000 likely GOP primary voters. Romney was second with 27 percent, followed by Gingrich (15 percent) and Paul (10 percent).
